ACERCA DE LA GRANJA
-
How is my food grown? We know that caring for the land and our natural resources means that we can keep growing together for the long haul. That's why Caracara is focused on biodynamic practices, including sustainable inputs, integrated pest management, low-impact tools and equipment, and efficient stewardship of our water. The garden plot is small-- only around 2/3 an acre--which means it can receive ample attention and careful cultivation.
-
Who grows my food? The Farm at Caracara is owned and worked by Heidi Sloan with the support of an incredible network of friends, family and food-lovers.
-
Who eats the food?We only sell via Community Supported Agriculture shares at this time, which means we know exactly who is receiving our veggies & flowers and can receive feedback on how to serve them better in the future. We are committed to a continual effort to make CSA shares affordable and accessible for folks in our neighborhood: the Red Rock to East Austin corridor.

How did the Farm at Caracara start? After working on a small farm, growing food for vulnerable populations in Austin for years, Heidi was given the opportunity to begin a new adventure in Red Rock. That transition began in the summer of 2021, as so many of us were realizing the vital necessity of accessing local, reliable and healthy food. The farm is situated in the midst of a growing community of folks from varying trades, deeply committed to supporting one another and the refinement of our crafts.
